Worth a try

Posted : 16 years, 6 months ago on 12 October 2007 06:58 (A review of Dead Fish)

Another average film that was only just worth watching. I was expecting it to be a lot better, but I just never really got into the story..

Yeah, yeah, Gary Oldman was pretty good. I guess. Nothing more really, no amazing acting in this, no amazing storyline, oh and only a few funny lines.
I should just point out that I got a few laughs from Robert Carlyle, but apart from that nothing.

Fantastic Fantasy

Posted : 16 years, 6 months ago on 7 October 2007 07:01 (A review of Stardust)

One of the best movies i've seen all year, and definetly one of the best fantasy films.
You'd be surprised at how many well known actors appear in this film, each playing a fantastic role. I must say that Robert De Niro was absolutely hilarious and perfect, aswell as other names such as Claire Danes, Michelle Pfeiffer, Ricky Gervais (Yet another hilarious character) and ofcourse Charlie Cox who was amazing as the main character.
This magical film is amazing in every way possible - it easily deserved the five stars.

Spooky

Posted : 16 years, 6 months ago on 7 October 2007 06:58 (A review of Sleepy Hollow)

I finally saw it and I have no regrets, it was fully awesome. It wasn't exactly scary, but the setting and music gave it a spooky vibe which I loved.

The story is simple - A visiting investigator, Ichabod Crane [Johnny Depp] comes to Sleepy Hollow to investigate the murder of three people, who have all had their heads chopped off by the Headless Horseman [Christopher Walken]. But soon three turns to four, and before you know it everyone is in danger of being murdered. Ichabod soon discovers that the killings are not just at random, but being controlled by someone on the inside in exchange for the Horseman's head. Along the way of finding the clues of to who is also responsible, Ichabod begins to know a towns girl, Katrina [Christina Ricci] and when she is in danger things start to get a little more personal for Ichabod.
Though it aims to be spooky, it does have its funny scenes which Johnny is perfect for.

This is just more proof that Johnny Depp and Tim Burton make wonderful movies together, and that is why I love both of their movies.

A Little Below Average

Posted : 16 years, 6 months ago on 7 October 2007 06:56 (A review of The Contract)

It sounded interesting, I had no doubts that it would be a good movie. I thought Morgan Freeman and John Cusack would make it a good movie, but I guess I was overrating it because they are both one of my favourite actors.

The story is original to me, I hadn't seen a movie like it before. There are probably movies out there with a story like that, I just didn't know it.

Its the story of an assassin [Morgan Freeman] who is planing to take out a target when there is a car crash and he is 'rescued' by Ray Keene [John Cusack] who is supposedly on a camping trip with his on who is still dealing with the fact that Ray's wife has just died. The camping trip is for the two to bond, and the assassin, Frank Cardin, comes into the picture and suddenly everything changes. Instead of a camping trip it turns into the father and son taking Frank into the cops so everyone will be safe. However, Frank's men chase them through the forest and will stop at nothing to get back Frank.

Basically while Ray and his son take the assassin in, they bond more than they could have without him. They discover looking after each other and protecting themselves. It was a little below average, not completely a bad movie, it just could have done with something else to make it better. The acting was also average, a surprise. And the characters weren't showing anything amazing to impress anyone. I wouldn't really recommend this to anyone, but I'm not stopping you to see it, go ahead if it sounds like a good movie to you.

This movie is just brilliant. Johnny Depp was the star, but woah.. Leonardo DiCaprio was amazing aswell. Its a sad, but sweet story that is certainly unforgettable and touching.

The Sims 2: Open for Business (Expansion) review

Posted : 16 years, 7 months ago on 28 September 2007 05:59 (A review of The Sims 2: Open for Business (Expansion))

Comes close to Nightlife as my favourite 'The Sims 2' Expansion Pack. On this you can create your own family business, buy a lot to create your dream shop, hire employee's and make tonnes of money (not that that really matters when you use the cheats ;D)
