Benny & Joon review

Posted : 16 years, 6 months ago on 14 October 2007 07:33 (A review of Benny & Joon)

Its a sweet, romantic comedy which is made even better with Johnny Depp. At times it has its weird moments, but that's what makes it unique.
A cute yet quirky movie that is highly enjoyable, a film for everyone..

Nick of Time review

Posted : 16 years, 6 months ago on 14 October 2007 12:13 (A review of Nick of Time)

Not one of Johnny's best, but still an exciting thriller that should keep you entertained. Christopher Walken again fantastic as 'the bad guy', but without Johnny I wouldn't have seen it in the first place. I wouldn't really expect something like this though.
I hadn't really heard of this before, so I can say that it should have deserved more credit. A must see for any Johnny Depp fan.

The Ice Harvest review

Posted : 16 years, 6 months ago on 13 October 2007 11:23 (A review of The Ice Harvest)

One of the best films I've seen in a while. From its original and funny story to its all-star cast of actors, I enjoyed this movie from start to finish.

It basically follows Charlie [John Cusack] and his 'partner' Vic [Billy Bob], who together have successfully stolen over two million dollars from Charlie's boss. But, as they say, there's no such thing as the perfect crime.

I really enjoyed seeing two of my favourite actors together in this movie, and for once I got what I expected, it was fantastic with them together unlike some other movies I have seen lately that have had good actors in it.. but unfortunately it didn't work. It really did work in this one, and Connie Nielsen and Oliver Platt were nice additions to the cast as well.

It has a nice twist at the end and a great way to finish off this great movie. I love it, for its humour, its story, its cast and its originality. You should really see this movie if you haven't already.

Masterpiece

A fantastic tale that is enjoyable for all. Yet another movie which has given me more reason to love Leonardo DiCaprio. Being one of my favorite actors he made this movie appeal more to me, but also Jeremy Irons and Gabriel Byrne were fantastic cast choices.
If you haven't seen this yet, you really should. With an all star cast and brilliant story, this movie is truly unforgettable.

Elizabethtown review

Posted : 16 years, 6 months ago on 12 October 2007 07:05 (A review of Elizabethtown)

After Pirates of the Caribbean I think I got a bit obsessed with Orlando Bloom, so I watched this film and I was actually pretty surprised.

Its not just one of those romance movies where it seems interesting for a while and then becomes dull and boring - no, this is completely different. I'm not actually one to watch romance movies, though this was also a comedy as well, so that was probably the main reason I rented it in the first place.

It gave me that good feeling of just enjoying it, watching characters on screen fall in love, I have to admit it was kind of cute. I can't remember ever finding this boring at all.. just perhaps some scenes weren't as exciting as others.

Its entertaining to watch and I'm sure any Orlando Bloom fan would love him in this movie as much as any other. I should really see this again sometime...

Click review

I think I thought this was better than it actually is. At first I just loved it because of Adam Sandler, I mean anything with him is hillarious right? But not exactly a great movie.. though I have to say that Christopher Walken was great in this movie, oh and same with Kate Beckinsale. Oh yeah and The Hoff was pretty awesome as well.

Brilliant

Posted : 16 years, 6 months ago on 12 October 2007 07:03 (A review of Collateral)

It surprised me, I thought it would be pretty bad but I watched it anyway. And you know what? I'm gonna give it 4.5 stars. Pretty good eh?
..Tom Cruise and Jamie Foxx together in this exciting thriller just makes it even more exciting. Its sort of a strange, but to me original story that I really should see again sometime!

War of the Worlds review

Posted : 16 years, 6 months ago on 12 October 2007 07:03 (A review of War of the Worlds)

Pretty crud. Not much else to say about this one. Poor acting by Tom Cruise and Dakota Fanning annoyys the hell out of me sometimes. I mean couldn't they have chosen someone else?? All she does for the whole movie is scream and perhaps says a few lines ..but mostly she just screams.

Legends of the Fall review

Posted : 16 years, 6 months ago on 12 October 2007 07:00 (A review of Legends of the Fall)

It was beautiful and amazing in ways it is hard to describe, this is definitely one of the best movies I have seen..

It is the story of Tristan and his family of two brothers and what life is like for them. Together they bond well when they were young, and the story follows through to when they are men and decide to go to war. And that's just the start of it, it follows all the events of Tristan's life, who he has lost, who he loved and the many adventures he faced.

Brad Pitt gave this movie a whole new perspective. I can't imagine it being the same without him, he put so much emotion into his character and made the movie more memorable.
Anthony Hopkins as the father was also a fantastic choice, perfect for his role in this movie. The only slight casting problem was Julia Ormond - Maybe it was just her character but I really didn't like her at all in this movie..

I recommend this to anyone, whether you like sad films or not this is a must see!
